Our Cabinetry Warranty

Ottawa Valley Kitchens provides a 5-year warranty on materials and workmanship from the date of installation.

If a covered part or product is found to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge at the discretion of an authorized Ottawa Valley Kitchens representative.

Drawer Slides & Door Hinges

Drawer slides and door hinges are covered by a lifetime warranty. If either needs replacement, bring in the old hinges or slides, and we will supply you with new ones.

Natural Wood & Material Characteristics

Natural materials such as solid wood, veneers, and natural stone can vary in grain, colour, tone, and character. These variations are not defects; they are part of what makes each wood product unique.

Natural materials may also change colour over time. Sunlight, steam, smoke, cleaning products, humidity, and other environmental factors can affect how finishes and materials age. Because of this, new or replacement parts may not match the original cabinetry exactly.

Countertop Seams

Laminate countertop seams are not guaranteed against movement or swelling when exposed to water, steam, or heat. Keeping seams and joints clean and dry will help your countertop perform properly for years to come.

Door Movement & Humidity

Wood products naturally react to changes in humidity. A tolerance of 3/16" for door warping, measured from corner to corner, is considered acceptable. A measurement exceeding 3/16" would warrant replacement, provided the space's humidity is maintained between 40% and 50% year-round.

Maintaining consistent humidity in your home helps protect your cabinetry and reduces the chance of movement, warping, or finish issues.

Settling & Adjustments

New homes and newly renovated spaces can move and settle over time. This warranty does not cover cracked caulking joints or misaligned doors and drawer fronts resulting from natural settling.

What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse, improper cleaning, or normal wear and tear. It also does not cover costs related to the removal or reinstallation of appliances, plumbing, or electrical components associated with a warranted part.

To help keep your cabinetry looking and performing its best, we recommend treating it with the same care you would give fine furniture. Excess water, harsh cleaners, steam, heat, and improper cleaning can damage cabinet finishes and may not be covered under warranty.
